Id love one last Bob episode. Maybe focusing on 80’s to present? I feel like you’ve got some interesting nuggets that can offshoot some of those records. Like Sly and Robbie playing on Infidels and the Springtime in New York bootleg. or some cool unknown Lanois projects. Either way I’ve enjoyed them all. Thanks Walt !
I'll be a jerk and say 'No more Dylan, please.' As a person in/from Appalachia, I can't get into this Greenwich Village scene. I love Joni. Thanks for adding some historical context.
I had a mini-obsession with Dave Van Ronk. His albums are perfectly unique, and he is so talented as a musician. There is a 2024 album on Spotify of a 1964 concert which is a good place to start. Personally, “fox’s minstrel show” blows me away every time as a song. But, I feel like we all know a guy like Dave - loud, gruff, and fun. Highly recommended. Cheers for the Mayor of Macdougal street!
What album is that Fugs song on? I always have to play it on youtube since I don't own it and the live version available on Apple just isn't as good to me. Been enjoying all your Dylan enthusiasm despite it bordering on comical at this point. Summer is Dylan season in my house so the world feels off its axis, but it's okay. Please share a few words on my favorite Dylan song, the one that got me into exploring his work when I was a teenager: Queen Jane Approximately. A little anecdote? Trivia? It's use in Bertolucci's The Dreamers? Thanks, Walt!

Ok awesome yeah I’m starting to think another Bobby episode is necessary. I’m not ready to say goodbye
I’m never ready to say goodbye

Hey yeah I love van Ronk but I don’t know a ton of it. I have his first record- I think it’s called Folksinger..? I love it. What a voice.
That one is perfect - I also like the album that this song comes from. Tom Waits should send a check for the song writing lesson https://open.spotify.com/track/2Jz1vORBsD4qcIRYJbFLtK?si=KjzNWXy9Tc6789rttBL3uQ&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A1OH4bqYDyTqhYOe3kUh2Kc

Hey that fugs song is in their second album. The Fugs. Yeah the version on Apple and Spotify stinks -
Hmm not sure I know any good trivia about Queen Jane… I’ll think about it. Never saw the dreamers, Bertolucci made that? I gotta get out more!
Is THAT Michael Hurley???? Jesus, never knew he was such a stud when he was younger!!
I know right? I just showed my wife and she was like…Wow
