I've always felt that the musical roots of The Walkmen grew deeper than those of some of their contemporaries. Wonderful to discover how the spirit of your grandmother’s music lives on in your songwriting.

I'm currently in northeast Brazil, spending the holiday with my wife and her family. It's 32° C/90° F here, but listening to this episode and seeing that photo of your studio is helping me feel more festive in the tropical heat.

Same. We’re in the Caribbean so this music is helping us imagine a white Christmas here

Feel like there are two ways to go with a tropical Christmas: you either stick to the wintry classics (carols, Guaraldi, blues, etc.), or you add a little cachaça or rum into that festive punch and break out records like the Sinatra/Jobim album or some Lord Kitchener.

Gonna try both approaches to see which goes best with the festive lights in palm trees vibe.

Haha yes man. I am always a fan of adding rum to anything 🥃. Cheers to a warm December!

Holy smokes, the back story for Hang On Siobhan was a real plot twist!

I had to stop mid-listen and send you a note. The Hang on Siobhan lore got me emotional. I love that song and it’s been too long since I listened. What a beautiful backstory. Thanks for sharing.
