That was very helpful. Friends and I have been doing some quiet sitting with music when we are at a loss for words

In the vein of the Glenn Gould Strauss selection, I'd like to share the Barber Concerto for Violin & Orchestra featuring Hilary Hahn as an example of something that stirs my soul. Specifically the first movement (although the other movements are great and the third is mind blowing). It's both sad and uplifting but beautiful in every way. There's a point in it that always gets me (no matter how many times I've listened to it). I think it's very much consistent with the theme you presented in this episode although it was never released on vinyl. I first heard it when my dad invited me to see Hilary Hahn perform it in Philly 20+ years ago and have been a fan ever since. One of many gifts he gave me.

Can’t tell you what a pleasant surprise this was, as I was wallowing in sadness, doing the dishes. Really great stuff, thanks Walt.
