The Walter Martin Radio Hour airs Sunday nights at 8pm on WEXT 97.1/106.1 upstate NY. New episodes appear free every other Friday on this Substack and update on all podcast apps.
Ok, this was supposed to be a well rounded Beatles episode but it turned into an emotional search for the soul of Paul McCartney. Did we find anything? You’ll have to be the judge.
I have complicated feelings about Paul’s music and in this episode I tried my best to keep a lid on my emotions, but (be warned) I wasn’t always successful. Some kind words are said—some unkind words are said. And I’m ashamed to admit that at one point I even found myself yelling.
But please understand, it’s all just LOVE.
Yes friends, it appears my number has come up and it’s my turn to grapple with the essential question—a question that has been debated in barrooms, classrooms and living rooms for the past 60 years:
“Who was the Walrus?”
I hope this episode provides some answers…
Enjoy this absurd show and thanks to everyone who wrote me last week and submitted their favorite Paul songs. And special thanks to those who sent voice memos. I really wanted to get to them all on the show but I ran out of time, so I will definitely have to do another Beatles episode at some point. These guys stir up something deep (and dark) in me.
Thanks for listening—sending wishes for peace and love to all of you. ✌️❤️

As always, I don’t do any prep research or Googling for these shows, I just use information that’s either in my head or on the record sleeve in front of me. So please enjoy some occasional old-school imprecise information. And please send me any corrections, comments, questions, requests or complaints.
You can add the podcast version of this radio show to Apple podcasts from my Substack and it’ll update weekly (that’s what I’d do).
