Episode 76: George Harrison, Pt. 3
It’s funny how the episodes that I think are gonna be the hardest to make often end up being my favorites. This is one of those.
Solo George is complicated. There’s obviously a lot of great music there but, as with most things involving George, the solo years require patience. They’re full of mistakes, strange detours, and questionable ideas. But they’re also totally fascinating and rewarding.
And rooting for ol’ George always feels good.
In this emotional roller coaster of an episode we go though huge successes, beautiful songs, lawsuits, isolation, drugs, sleeping with Ringo’s wife (!?), vocal issues, difficult tours, and George’s lifelong search for the right gang.
But, in typical George style, he somehow f*cking pulls it off.
Enjoy this episode and look out next week for some special episodes to help digest the George trilogy.
Long live George Harrison!
