Episode 75: George Harrison, Pt. 2 (The Seabiscuit of The Beatles)
Ok — so nice to be back to Beatles season after getting sidetracked by The New York Times’ 30 Greatest Living American Songwriters list. (I had to make two special episodes to respond.)
Anyway, we’re back in Beatleville.
And we’re looking at George again — this time from Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band till the end of the band.
We love George. We root for George. And to watch him slowly come out of his cocoon — finding a new path, a spiritual center, a new friend (Bob Dylan), a new confidence, and eventually writing some of the greatest songs in the Beatles catalog — is truly satisfying.
He’s the Seabiscuit of The Beatles.
Go George!
