“This is the sound of 3AM. Bleary and lonely and probably a little drunk. (It’s basically the honky-tonk equivalent of Sinatra’s In The Wee Small Hours, another great record.) Amazing spoken word intro to a track written by Willie Nelson. I once listened to this while driving through the Rocky Mountains many hours before dawn, on my way to the airport, and it was one of a handful of perfect listening experiences in my life thus far. (Thanks to my pal Christy for introducing me to this record many years ago…)”
