The Walter Martin Radio Hour airs Sunday nights at 8pm on WEXT 97.1/106.1 upstate NY. New episodes appear here every other Friday and update on all podcast apps. Link to Apple Podcasts from my Substack for all new episodes.
Ok I have too many favorite guitar players for a sixty minute show but I crammed in as many as I possibly could.
We go from the 1940s to the 2020s, exploring great guitarists and guitar traditions. The rebels and the softies. The hot dogs and the cool cats. The self-taught and the well-trained. The lovers and the haters.
Emotions were running particularly high this episode and, midway through, the discussion deteriorates into an embarrassing argument betweeen my younger self and my older self. Who’s right? Who’s wrong? You be the judge…
I love all these guitar players, all these crazy ways of playing the guitar and all these songs very much.
Some dumb and bad jokes are made but all the music is great, don’t worry.
Thanks for listening. And please share my show if you like it.

If you have any thoughts or questions or anything that you’d like me to play and respond to on the air send me a (brief!) voice memo to info@waltermartinmusic.com and I’ll hopefully get it on an upcoming show.
As always, I don’t do any prep research or Googling for these shows, I just use information that’s either in my head or on the record sleeve in front of me. So please enjoy some occasional old-school imprecise information. And please send me any corrections, comments, questions, requests or complaints.
You can add the podcast version of this radio show to Apple podcasts from my Substack and it’ll update weekly (that’s what I’d do).
